Helena Jesele - Sweet and Sticky Fix (2013)

Helena Jesele is a 6 foot tall, singer and songwriter who was born in the 80′s in Manchester, England, but raised in Dublin, Ireland. She grew up in a typically musical Irish family listening to the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Aretha Franklin and Frank Sinatra so when she began singing at the tender age of 5, it was a natural progression that the Great American Songbook became her staple vocal expression at school performances throughout her teenage years.

After studying Art History at University, Helena worked selling fine art during the day, but it was obvious her true love was her evening job; becoming a Jazz singer by night at famous London clubs such as Ronnie Scott’s, La Pigalle and Cafe Royale.
Her desire to write songs to music based on the tradition of classic analogue recording with real, not programmed instrumentation, got her noticed by Soul and Jazz aficionados, Truth and Soul – the Brooklyn based, New York musicians and producers who’s soulful urban sound most recently took Aloe Blacc to mainstream success. A recording and writing spell in Brooklyn soon followed which resulted in this wonderful debut release "Sweet and Sticky Fix".
Too early for debut of the year? Just sit back and enjoy!
