Wolfy Funk Project

WOLFY FUNK PROJECT [W.F.P.] were formed in the summer of 2007 based on the needs of three musicians (D. Giotakis, K. Stamou, A. Diamantopoulos) to suit their musical pursuits. Adapting their personal sound to melodies and rhythms of familiar and non-familiar songs, from a wider musical range, but also creating their own compositions using as its main component the aggressive (“wolfy” as they name it) funk rhythm, started performing live in clubs, bars, music festivals and stages all across Athens. At the end of 2008, Nancy SiM (vocals) and Dimitris Faris (tenor sax & keys) joined the band. Melodic lyrics and MC-ing in addition with the harmonic keys and the power of the horn, boosts WFPs current particular style, rehearsing new songs and performing more “wolfy” funky gigs.

Cayetano - Back Home (2010)

Klik Records welcomes a new artist to its roster. A familiar music personality to the Greek and International electronic scene, Cayetano with his third full-length album ‘Back Home’.

After two releases on the Etage Noir label, one in collaboration with Loopa Scava and his album ‘The Big Fall’, Cayetano is now recognised in the world of electronic music, standing shoulder to shoulder with his artist influences such as Bonobo, Peder and Quantic.

Once more Cayetano continues creating music in his own unique way, a blend of dubby, jazzy, latin and trip hop sounds which sees our protagonist surrounded once again by his long time associates George Haritos playing trombone, Renos Psarras on trumpets, Jimmy Joanne on bass, Stephan Knuf on drums, DJ Booker on turntables, Akis Katsoupakis on Rhodes keyboards and finally the voice of Valia Athanasiadou.

An academic musician but most of all a modern and conscious artist, Cayetano is not afraid to use the latest technology in order to create musical compositions based on his influences and life experiences. Today, sampling faces glorious days, so the proper use of it can be a great proof of the value and respect an artist pays towards the art he serves. It’s a way to bring together sounds from different backgrounds and cultures, creating a landmark musical result of today's world.

’Back Home’ provides ten different musical stories that Cayetano brings together as one unique whole. From the sparkling shimmer of ‘Glassleaves’ to the scratched up funk of ‘K Blues’ and the dub inflected ‘Day After Day’ to the otherworldly waltz of the closing ‘Left My Girl For A Bizarre Sextet’, Cayetano’s new musical journey is full of subtle twists and turns.

"Like a boat trip across the Aegan sea... every song is like a precious little island with an unmistakable original flavour" -Michael Mayer

Dr. Vodkatini

Dr.Vodkatini were formed by a handful of musicians already playing in other bands.
All of them being fans of feel-good and groovy music they found themselves jammimg endlessly in the studio and after a while they moved their sessions on-stage of a few of the most famous live spots of Athens. That was the time that other members joined the band and the sequence of live performances increased rapidly for Dr. Vodkatini to become one of the most frequently appearing live bands in the local music scene ever, some of the most important festivals
(International Lounge Festival, European Music Day Festival, Earthdance, among others) included.
Nowadays their sound has been developed to become what is commonly known as freestyle and raw groove or just feel-good-groove music as the band prefers to label themselves.
Influenced by the soul music’s standards as set by Stevie Wonder or Marvin Gaye and the latin feel of Tito Puente, implementing the smoothness of Burt Bacharach and Donald Byrd together, Dr Vodkatini are releasing 10 tracks that will make you party, sway, fall in love and all that with a big smile on your face.

The Happy Dog Project - Doggy Style (2007)

Happy Dog Project is a Greek band formed in an appartment @ downtown Athens, Greece, during the summer of 2000. The band performs it's own music that incorporates elements from balkan/greek traditional odd meters and funky/hip hop beats, mediterranean/middle eastern echoes, jazz impro, noises, dub and electro ambiences. The band's style changed over the years. In the beggining, it was more rough and hip hop-ish with DJ Marble spining vinyls and the band improvising along with guitar, hammond and rhodes in the front row. After some time, thinking and concers, the band focused more to the music of our own region of the world: the mediterranean/balkan/greek music and the rhythm signatures that come form this area. Happy Dog Project performed so far in live various venues, clubs and open air festivals in Greece and in Turkey (15th Akbank Jazz Festival @ Babylon Club, Istanbul). The band's first CD entitled "Dog Days Are Over" was out @ April 2004 from Ankh Records and their second one, entitled "Doggy Style", is out now from Ankh Records as well. Both CD's produced by Manolis Angelakis (with Stathis Ioannou on the second release).

Catch them live @ Technopolis, Athens on 20th June and Hyde Park, London on 21st June
